‘Come and brief Parliament before laying your C.I before the House’ – Bagbin tells EC

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has taken steps to impede the laying of another Established Instrument (C.I) by the Constituent Commission on the off chance that the House isn't advised as needs be.

The Constituent Commission's CI, which is going through certain revisions, is supposed to make the Ghana card the main distinguishing proof report to select unto the electors register.

This new proposition has been a prickly issue between the EC and the resistance NDC along with other ideological groups.

They have contended that this proposition by the EC looks to disappoint Ghanaians in the impending decisions.

Talking regarding this situation on the Floor of the House, on Friday, Alban Bagbin noticed that the autonomy of the EC doesn't make it safe to oversight by Parliament.

He demonstrated that he will just permit the EC to lay the C.I before Parliament assuming individuals from the House are completely informed.

"I am yet to get them to be advised. Until that is finished, they ought to disregard laying any such instrument in the House. I think there is a confusion and misconception of the idea of freedom of different state establishments that are expressed by the Constitution to be free," he expressed.

Mr. Alban Bagbin made sense of that the EC's freedom connects with the presentation of its capabilities. Be that as it may, its freedom stops on the off chance that any issue or matter is brought before Parliament.

"They can't say they are not expose to the control of anyone, including the foundation of Parliament. The EC, the Bank of Ghana and the Legal executive ought to observe," he added.
